Dance floors are heating up with the release of “Cash Out,” a collaboration between Grammy-nominated duo SIDEPIECE and hip-hop heavyweight Bobby Shmurda. Out now via Lip Service, the new label founded by SIDEPIECE, this electrifying track reworks Shmurda’s iconic 2014 hit “Hot N*gga” into a modern house anthem.
SIDEPIECE, comprised of Ricky Mears (NITTI) and Dylan Ragland (Party Favor), are well-known for crafting high-energy electronic hits. Their latest release reintroduces one of hip-hop’s most memorable vocals to a new generation of dance fans, breathing new life into a track that originally went 5x Platinum and hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
SIDEPIECE said, “‘Cash Out’ started as a fun idea for us to play live. But from the first time we dropped it, we realized it was bigger than anything we’d done before. The OG is so beloved and such a part of the zeitgeist when it came out—but this newer generation is hearing it with fresh ears. We got in touch with Bobby, and not only was he super responsive, but he was genuinely into the idea. He loves dance music and electronic culture, so it was a perfect fit. To make it happen, he had to go back into the studio and re-record the vocals, and it was surreal to watch this song get a whole new life after all these years.”
The track debuted with a bang when Bobby Shmurda surprised fans during SIDEPIECE’s EDC Las Vegas set at the Cosmic Meadow stage, delivering a live performance that electrified the crowd.
