MARINA releases “PRINCESS OF POWER” and premieres video for “I <3 YOU” — a new era of self-belief.
MARINA returns in full force with the release of her sixth studio album PRINCESS OF POWER, out now via Queenie Records/BMG. This latest project stands as her most daring and unapologetic release to date, a vibrant reflection of self-renewal and empowerment.
The 11-track album arrives with the official video for the shimmering synth-pop anthem “I <3 YOU,” directed by Olivia De Camps. MARINA shared, “One of my lessons in the last few years is that love — and showing love — is not a weak thing. Of all the superpowers we have as humans, love is our greatest one.”
Following recent high-profile performances on the Coachella Main Stage, MARINA will continue her festival run with live sets at WorldPride in Washington D.C. tonight and Governors Ball in New York tomorrow. Additional festival dates throughout the summer include appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits.
While her 2021 album Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land reflected an outward critique of society, PRINCESS OF POWER turns inward. MARINA explains, “I’ve accessed this new part of myself. It’s really a rebuilding-my-life-from-scratch type of album. Which is probably why it has an exciting energy.”
The album includes standout tracks such as “BUTTERFLY,” “EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M SAD,” and “CUNTISSIMO” — which Rolling Stone praised as “an anthemic pop song inspired by glamorous, brave, confident women.” The latter is a tribute to feminine strength and autonomy.
MARINA’s transition to independent artist under her own label is a testament to her continued evolution, and with PRINCESS OF POWER, she invites listeners to embrace freedom, sensuality, and radical self-expression.
