Defected Records unveils a standout collaboration as Moby teams up with genre-defying DJ/producer BLOND:ISH and Brazilian artist Kiko Franco for the release of “Natural Blues.” This fresh house rework elevates Moby’s signature style through vibrant piano chords, rich synths, and Afro House percussion that converge into a global dance anthem.
Moby, one of the most influential names in electronic music, brings his timeless sampling approach to the track. His partnership with BLOND:ISH was sparked by a spontaneous call. “Moby randomly called me (I never met him, just idolized him since I was a kid) and asks: ‘Wanna remix one of my songs?’ I’m like, ‘Any song?!’ He’s like, ‘Yep, pick one,’” shares BLOND:ISH. Working alongside Kiko Franco in Rio, they quickly crafted an idea that evolved into a full collaboration.
For Franco, the process was equally rewarding. “BLOND:ISH and I were already talking about working on something together… I’m really happy with how it turned out,” he explains. “I’m happy to be able to add elements of my identity to the track.”
“Natural Blues” is engineered for the dancefloor, combining Moby’s nostalgic soul with BLOND:ISH’s euphoric production and Kiko Franco’s rhythmic depth—creating an unforgettable house record for summer 2025.
