KARABA drops “Surfacing,” the third and final single from her “Tides” EP, out June 13 via ONErpm.
KARABA, the French-born, Quebec-raised producer/DJ known for her dynamic take on Afro house, has released “Surfacing,” the third and final single from her upcoming EP Tides due June 13 via ONErpm.
“Surfacing” offers a sense of peace and catharsis, building on the emotive storytelling KARABA introduced in previous singles “Siren” and “Dark Waters.” The track features textured ocean samples, soul-stirring vocal chants, and rhythmic drum patterns, staying true to her Afro house foundation while leaning into transcendental themes.
“‘Surfacing’ is the final single of my EP, where everything comes together,” explains KARABA. “After the tension and high energy of the journey, it feels like a moment of rebirth and arrival—floating above the water, chanting, and embracing the calm after the storm.”
Tides is KARABA’s most personal work to date, using the ocean as metaphor to explore identity, transformation, and emotional release. The EP reflects her background as a former dancer who once toured with Drake, Selena Gomez, and Camila Cabello, and her evolution into a rising force in global underground music.
Following the success of “Mad Mess” and her 2024 Juno Award nomination, as well as her Spotify Fresh Finds Canada cover, KARABA’s trajectory continues upward. She’ll perform this summer at Lightning in a Bottle and AFRODOM Festival ahead of the EP launch.
