Jessie Reyez returns with “PAID IN MEMORIES“, a bold, emotional album with features from Lil Wayne, Ari Lennox, and Sam Smith.
Jessie Reyez has officially released her long-awaited third studio album PAID IN MEMORIES, now available via FMLY / Island Records. The project follows her 2022 critically acclaimed record Yessie and arrives as she celebrates two 2025 Juno nominations: Rap Single of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
The new album features an impressive list of collaborators including Lil Yachty, Lil Wayne, Ari Lennox, Big Sean, Miguel, Deyaz, and a surprise appearance by Sam Smith. With PAID IN MEMORIES, Reyez offers listeners her most personal and expansive work to date, diving deep into themes of self-worth, resilience, and emotional growth.
Reflecting on the journey behind the album, Reyez shares:
“My relationship with success has been a little convoluted for a long time. I was scared of it when I first got started in the industry. It was an ongoing joke that I would give away a lot of my hits because I write a lot of music for other people as well. To be honest, maybe they were right. But the operative word here is WERE. I’ve done un-packing, some of it has to do with being the underdog for too long, another has to do with not having been born rich, and almost feeling like all of the success that I’ve been lucky enough to have feels like a jacket that was too tight. But I’ve been in the gym, I’ve been growing my biceps, I’ve been becoming more familiar with feeling at home. I’m reaping the fruits from the seeds I’ve buried years ago. And I’ve been lucky enough that my success has not just come materially. I’ve been really fortunate that along with the heartbreak, I’ve had beautiful love stories. Along with people that I’ve lost along the way, I’ve had people that stuck it out with me. I’ve been paid in more ways than one, and luckily, I’ve been well paid in memories..”
Known for her raw vocals and fearless songwriting, Reyez has recently released a series of powerful singles from the album, including “PSILOCYBIN & DAISIES,” “GOLIATH,” and high-profile collaborations such as “JUST LIKE THAT” with Ari Lennox and “JEANS” with Miguel.
Outside of her solo work, Reyez has made waves as a songwriter for artists like Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Kehlani, LISA (BLACKPINK), and Calvin Harris.
With over 3 billion global streams and hit records like “Imported” and “Figures” both certified 2x platinum, PAID IN MEMORIES builds on Reyez’s reputation as one of the most influential voices in modern music.
