Singer-songwriter Diva Smith releases ‘Better in Heaven,’ a raw and emotional track exploring heartbreak and healing.
Emerging pop artist Diva Smith shares her debut single, “Better in Heaven,” a track that pairs powerful storytelling with mesmerizing production. Driven by soaring melodies and a pulsing drumbeat, the song captures the highs and lows of heartbreak, self-reflection, and emotional growth.
On the meaning behind the song, Diva explains:
“‘Better in Heaven’ reflects on the feelings of hopelessness and confusion that come along with a first heartbreak; the worry that the sinking feeling will never pass, and hoping to every god that you don’t even believe in that it will. It explores the trials and triumphs that come along with healing, and resolves itself in knowing that as time passes, feelings pass too.”
The track was co-written and produced by Stella Smyth, a collaborator Diva met while studying at NYU. Their creative synergy started over Zoom during the pandemic and led to the powerful sound of “Better in Heaven.” Additional production was handled by GRAMMY-nominated producer Marty MARO (TWICE, Anitta, Selena Gomez), further elevating the track’s sonic depth.
Describing her sound as “Therapy Pop,” Diva brings a fresh, introspective approach to modern pop music. More new music is on the way in 2025—stay tuned.
