DIA, one of Puerto Rico’s most promising new talents, has unveiled his latest track, “CON EL,” featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Paopao. Released under Casablanca Records, this genre-bending reggaeton anthem is now available across streaming platforms, with an evocative music video to accompany the single.
The track is a testament to DIA’s innovative artistry, blending fiery verses and experimental beats with the rich, soulful voice of Paopao. Opening with bright marimba synths, the song builds into a deep reggaeton rhythm, weaving a story of heartbreak and introspection. DIA and Paopao’s voices intertwine, exchanging heartfelt verses that highlight their distinct yet complementary styles.
Speaking about the collaboration, DIA shares, “I started working on the song with Red Finger (producer), and from the moment I wrote the intro, I instantly thought of paopao. She gives her fans that pleasant sadness in her songs. We got together in the studio, and it flowed easily. We wanted to take ‘regret’ in a different direction, and storytelling through my songs is something that identifies me. We merged both worlds together, and it resulted in ‘CON EL.’”
The music video adds depth to the single, portraying DIA sorting through remnants of a breakup. A nostalgic plush toy becomes a symbol of lost love as he reflects on past memories. Meanwhile, Paopao makes her way to DIA but hesitates at his door. Together, they embody the bittersweet decision to move forward.
