Zach Zoya is back with new track and visualizer “Strangers In The House” featuring Montreal-based artist Soran, Canadian tour dates announced
Also released is the official visualizer for “Strangers In The House” directed by Montréal’s Guillaume Landry. Filmed in Soran’s house he and Zoya wrote the song, the video reflects the relaxed energy and collaborative creative process of the two songwriters.
Zach Zoya says about the new single, “This song felt really natural in the way we made it because it was more about capturing the essence of a moment we had just witnessed as opposed to trying to create something out of nothing,” reflects Zoya. “I think that’s why it’s such a stripped-down, organic song mostly made of vocal harmonies and an earthy drum and bassline. I wanted it relaxed and void of pretentiousness – just a faithful representation of our emotions. It’s explicit, honest and very literal. We wanted the listener to feel like they were on the couch, living the moment with us.”
“‘Strangers In The House’ is a great example of what happens behind the scenes,” says Zoya. “Soran and I have been making music every other day since the start of the pandemic and his house has become a sort of music sanctuary. It’s where we gather to chill, make music and collaborate with other artists. I always try to find new creative pockets to explore and to push myself artistically and Soran’s flair for moods and melodies bring structure and colour to my penmanship.”
“Strangers In The House” follows Zoya’s latest single, “Start Over” featuring Benny Adam, which CLASH Magazine hailed as a “fiery, engaging, supremely addictive single” and crowned as their Track of the Day. The official music video for “Start Over”, which was exclusively premiered by Vogue Italia, landed Zoya the title of a YouTube Trending Artist on The Rise last month.
Recently, Zach Zoya partnered with NFL Canada for an exclusive #PepsiHalftimeShow cover performance of “LOVE” by Kendrick Lamar and was one of three Canadian artists selected for SoundCloud’s Black History Month initiative celebrating Black Expression.
