Rising pop star VÉRITÉ reveals her brand new holiday single “Blackout Christmas,” which got featured on Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection playlist.
The collection ‘Spotify Singles: Holiday’ includes a wide range of covers and originals, from artists across a myriad of genres, in hopes of connecting friends and family from afar as they listen. This year’s eclectic roster joins alums of Spotify Singles: Holiday years past from the likes of John Legend, Norah Jones, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, and Demi Lovato.
Spotify Singles was created to give artists an opportunity to record new versions of their own songs, and the songs of the artists they love. The Singles scope includes a unique version of each artist’s own song (Side A) and a cover song of their choosing (Side B). To date, there have been over 300 Singles recorded as part of the program.
VÉRITÉsays on the new track, “‘Blackout Christmas’ is a song for the broken-hearted this holiday season,” she adds. “Plainly, it’s about getting blackout drunk and being sad while missing someone. I feel like it’s a sentiment we can all identify with. I hope it makes you cry & brings you some comfort that you’re not alone.”
VÉRITÉ recorded the project in the midst of the COVID era right after her US headline, sold out, tour was canceled in early March 2020. In support of the release, VÉRITÉ embarked on a pandemic safe, super fan driveway tour called “Live From 6ft Apart.”
“I’m excited to find new ways to share and connect with the people who listen to my music right now,” VÉRITÉ says about the current challenges facing the music industry.
Earlier this year, VÉRITÉ made a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert HERE
