Popstar on the rise UPSAHL is back with a brand new stunning debut album “Lady Jesus“
Following her recent video for “Lunatic,” a thumping pop-driven anthem that screams bad b*tch energy. The rising star recently released the exhilarating video for “Lunatic,” which sees a bloody vengeful UPSAHL go, full-on psycho, as she reenacts the iconic Hitchcock scene.
UPSAHL says, “When I started writing the album, I didn’t know the title, I didn’t know how the story was going to end and I was completely lost. I was in the studio one day, about halfway through writing the album, and it hit me that I was actually the best I had ever been. I felt like I had gone through a total rebirth without even realizing it was happening. That day, we wrote the song Lady Jesus and everything about this album made sense. I accidentally narrated the emotional rollercoaster that led to me finding my personal “Lady Jesus.” People put so much power and faith in religion and turn to others to save them, but this album is about finding that savior within yourself.”
UPSAHL hosted an exclusive live performance and event at the oldest church in Los Angeles, Pico Union Project. The intimate, yet all-encompassing evening featured UPSAHL and her three-piece band as they performed the entire album, which will be the only time UPSAHL plays the album through front to back . For those unable to attend in person, UPSAHL hosted a worldwide live stream of the special event.
UPSAHL’s set to play her first-ever headline show at the Courtyard Theatre in London on October 12th, which is already sold-out months in advance. She recently announced latest headliner date at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on November 30th. UPSAHL will also perform a Halloween special show with Melanie Martinez at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA.
The rising popstar has carved out a niche in the songwriting world as she has lent her pen to numerous hits spanning various genres such as Dua Lipa’s GRAMMY Award-winning “Good in Bed,” Madison Beer’s fiery single “BOYSHIT,” and “Happy Endings” with Mike Shinoda and iann dior which went Top 10 at Alt Radio. Most recently, UPSAHL collaborated with Anne-Marie and Little Mix and co-wrote “Kiss My (Uh Oh)” a current Top 10 single in the UK. In addition, UPSAHL covered Dominic Fike’s “3 Nights” for Amazon’s coveted Original series that’s exclusively featured on Amazon Music.
