Indie pop duo The Two Lips return with “clue,” a dreamy exploration of emotional distance.
Rising dream-pop duo The Two Lips have released their latest single, “clue”, via Island Records UK. The track follows their official debut, “talk,” and continues to define their captivating blend of airy textures and emotionally honest lyrics.
“clue” is anchored by a hypnotic production style that recalls artists like Clairo and Kali Uchis, but with a distinct intimacy that sets Andrea and Jewlz apart. About the track, they share, “‘clue’ is a song about the feeling when you have exhausted all options trying to save a relationship and you feel like you’ve reached a dead end. Both parties can’t seem to figure each other out, and you reminisce on good times before things went sour. Still, there’s hope that the ‘case’ can be cracked and the relationship is worth saving.
The release follows a summer of momentum for the Los Angeles-based duo. After opening for Sabrina Carpenter at London’s Hyde Park, they headlined Islington’s The Grace and played two sold-out nights in Los Angeles—at the Troubadour and El Rey Theatre—due to growing demand. Their West Coast tour continues through August with further sold-out dates in cities like San Francisco and beyond.
Hailing from Cerritos, California, Andrea and Jewlz originally began making music together casually in 2023. Drawing from their shared Mexican heritage and Jewlz’s Filipino background, their songs carry themes of identity, womanhood, and emotional growth. Their breakout track “still love you (todavía)” garnered over 25 million streams and cracked Spotify’s Top Ten Viral Chart.
