Demonstrating their knack for creating ambient and atmospheric alt-pop hits, “Leave Me Feeling Confident” can only be described as a song that contains a perfect vibe. Pulling a pounding drum, crooning vocals and vibey guitars, “Leave Me Feeling Confident” is an ode to love as the pair sings “You leave me feeling feeling confident/you make me wanna go again/I’m not just a friend,“lyrics that perfectly fall into line with the album’s theme & title, GIRLFRIEND.
The first single from GIRLFRIEND, “Heaven Angel,” is a punchy track that highlight’s the band’s signature sound, and makes the perfect insight into The Driver Era’s new era. The track received love from the likes of DIY who called the track “funky disco-tinged,” The Aquarian described the song as “Subtle, Sultry, & Swoon-worthy,” and Paper Magazine said the band leans “into the over-the-top charm of their lyrics” and the track carries “theatrical vocals, playful electro production.”
