American electronic/pop duo The Chainsmokers surprise fans with a new single “High“, after a two-year break. The new single is featured along with an official video.
After 2 years without new music, The Chainsmoker’s new single is here! The song, which was co-written and co-produced by Alex and Drew, launches a new musical era for the band and kicks off the journey towards their upcoming fourth full-length album.
The song’s official music video follows the guys to death-defying heights as Drew chases his unattainable significant other through several surreal scenarios, and showcases navigating through a world where love is always fleeting.
The Chainsmokers shares about “High”, “The song perfectly captures the spirit of today’s relationships, the lengths we will go for someone we love, and the lies we tell ourselves to continue on unhappily. However, underlying these dark and often contentious lyrics is a production that feels celebratory because we all know at the end of the day, we never listen to advice, we do what feels best for ourselves and keep telling ourselves it will be different this time.”
Over their music career, The Chainsmoker’s songs got millions of streams and views from all over the world, especially for their hits like “Closer”, “Roses”, “Paris” and many others.
Along with the amazing news about the new single, The Chainsmokers will perform “High” live for the first time ever during the Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Halftime Show Presented by Audi this Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.
The game kicks off at 3:30pm PT / 6:30pm ET, will be broadcast on FOX, and marks the first time in NFL history that a stadium that will host the Super Bowl is also hosting a Championship Game two weeks prior.
In the last years, the duo took their time to write and record their fourth album, while also focusing on philanthropy and other entrepreneurial endeavours such as their venture fund, Mantis, and their TV/Film production company, Kick The Habit. Stay tuned for more soon from The Chainsmokers.
