TAELA channels the iconic “Beetlejuice” film in her new single, “beetlejuice (dead to me).” Dive into this anthem of liberation and self-empowerment.
TAELA makes a striking comeback with her latest track, “beetlejuice (dead to me),” launched today under the banners of Young Forever/Capitol Records. Renowned for her candid lyrics and emotive tunes, TAELA finds inspiration in the classic film “Beetlejuice,” crafting a song that champions self-worth and liberation.
She says, “Beetlejuice is my favorite movie. I obsessively watched it growing up and I still turn it on as a comfort show every now and then. I was watching it recently and saw the scene where Beetlejuice says to Lydia, ‘I’m telling ya honey, she meant nothing to me! nothing at all!’ and was instantly inspired to write a song based on the film. I wrote “beetlejuice (dead to me)” about an ex that keeps trying to crawl out of the grave. The ex who’s willing to do anything and everything to get to you, even if it means dragging your name through the dirt or making you miserable. This song is a final ‘we’re through!’ message and I’m so excited to share it.”
TAELA’s music has always resonated with fans, drawing from her personal journeys. Her recent offering, life’s a bitch…still, is an extended rendition of her EP from October 2022. It delves deep into the raw sentiments of life’s ups and downs. With a mix of trap beats, catchy choruses, and sharp guitar riffs, TAELA’s distinctive sound is marked by her powerful vocals and an unwavering confidence that speaks to many who have navigated their own challenges.
