Summers Ovver, is an R&B producer/artist from Salisbury, Maryland, and he been producing since 2012 and releasing songs since 2020 as summers ovver, I use to have a group called “The Warningz” but things just didn’t go as a planned so I went solo and became Summers Ovver, how I operate is I create the beats and connect with artist I feel can sing my vision for the beat and we release the song as a collab. One of the songs I released is called “Open Love” its from my EP “If You’re Alone Tonight”
Where are you from?
I was born in Salisbury, MD but I grew up in Newark,De
When did you start making music?
I started producing in 2012 but I been working in music for as long as I can remember, I use to play piano and organ in church but then as I got older I realized production was my true vision.
How do you describe your music?
Its romantic and smooth with emotion and bounce
Favorite moment from your career?
Wow um one of my favorite moments in my career so far was having one of my songs getting placed in an independent film, that to me was an amazing accomplishment to me
Who is your biggest musical inspiration?
My biggest musical inspiration is producers like Rodney Jerkins and Bryan Michael-Cox also producers like Timbaland and Dj Khalid
What is your producing software?
LogicPro ..is pretty much all I use, been my DAW of choice for years
What is your favorite track of all time?
112 – Cupid
What is your best-producing tip?
Always start with melody, melodies are what attract the ear first, but once you get a great melody that speaks and then adding the drums will bring out the full feel of what your tryna to express musically
Why did you start making music?
I feel like music choose me, I wanted to play basketball and become a NBA player but one day in college, everything started to change and I started learning to play piano more, one night I played from like 8pm to like 9am in the morning lol and I realized that this what I’m meant to do.
What are your goals for the future?
Right now my goals are to keep releasing as much music as I can and get my songs on some Netflix movies and reaching 1 million streams on my next project.
What advice can you give for young music producers/DJs?
Trust your process, even when things don’t seem like its working out in your favor just keep trusting and working and Gods gonna lead the way.
