Exclusive Spotlight Interview With American Vocal Dance Music Artist Johnny Holliday aka Lover J
Where are you from?
I am originally from Annapolis Md, although I have resided in many different places to include Schwabach / Nuremberg Germany, Kieserslaughten Germany, Seattle Wa, Jersey City NJ, NYC ,and now currently in Wilkes Barre PA
When did you start making music?
Well my mother told me it started singing in the crib but to my recollection it all started at Asbury United Methodist Church. My father sang on a couple of our church choirs and he had a powerful deep bass voice and as a kid I loved to hear him and his choirs sing. From there I sang and played the drums for our youth choir and enjoyed singing to the girls at day camp. In the second grade I started playing the violin, played that for 2 years and after being teased, decided to switch over to the Cello which I played throughout high school in my high school orchestra.
How do you describe your music?
Well I do many different styles of music, I Love Gospel Music thats my roots I also Love Dance Feel good music mostly Vocal Dance Music that always seem to keep my spirits high then there is what I enjoy singing the most R&B Love songs Love the Beats with Hip Hop and love the soft elegant touch of classical music So I guess I would describe my music as Smooth Romantic sometimes hard and filled with love
Favorite moment from your career?
I have 2, Seeing the Jackson 5 Live on Stage at the Baltimore Civic center with my mom and cousin and Flying to NYC from Seattle to meet with Arista Records
Who is your biggest musical inspiration?
I have 2 my Dad and Micheal Jackson
What is your producing software?
I have been using Cakewalk since it came out in the Dos platform it has changed names over the years to Sonar and now the latest Cakewalk by Band Lab I also use Fruity loops , Asid, and Reason
What other things do you do besides making music?
Well I’m a single dad and like spending time with my children. We Roller Skate,bowl, play basketball, and go to amusement parks. I also Like to ride dirt bikes (Motocross) Like to Dance, Club and I like to DJ and host Karaoke.
What is your favorite track of all time?

Why did you start making music?
It’s what makes my world go around I can’t Live without music in my life
What are your goals for the future?
Keep Making Music with hopes of being #1 on the Billboard Chart and start to try to Licence my music for Movies, TV shows , and commercials and one more, I hope to someday win a Grammy
What advice can you give for the young music producers/DJs?
Success is Doing what you love to do and making a living doing so that should be the goal
