Where are you from? I grew up in Malaysia and relocated to Melbourne 5 years ago When did you start making music? Started making music ever since i could remember! Music has always been a part of my life. I have dabbled in Classical (piano), Jazz (double bass), Contemporary pop (guitar) in the past but i guess i found my sound when a friend encouraged me to learn about synths 2 years ago. I went on to build a tiny home studio and started producing synth pop eversince How do you describe your music? A combination of electronica downtempo, synth pop, trip hop, and lo-fi. Favorite moment from your career? Now! I have never ever thought that I would embark on this journey of putting my music out there … I’ve always just made music as a form of release for myself. echolily - Under The Clocks Who is your biggest musical inspiration?So many! I have listed Sia, Bjork, Portishead, Flight Facilities, Tokimonsta and Jamie xx as my influences for my current project. If i have to choose one, probably Sia because she’s the best songwriter! What is your producing software? LogicPro ..but i prefer making beats with Ableton Live What other things do you do besides making music?I am a full time doctor. Specifically, an anaesthesiologist. I love it! And I am very grateful that I have had the chance to study medicine because not many can have that opportunity. They ended up clipping massively and impossible to EQ. My guru in production then reminded me that a song is like a puzzle, in order to fit together, they must have space. Allow a sound to shine through by muting the others, and then alternate that so each sound has its own space! Why did you start making music? I wanted to release all these songs I have echo-ing in my head. What are your goals for the future?To keep releasing music for the next year, and hopefully have a song featured on TV.
