Shyfrin Alliance make a striking return with their second full-length release, ‘In the Shadow of Time’, a blues-rock album that takes on the vast and often intangible concept of time. Helmed by Eduard Shyfrin – the visionary author, scientist, and entrepreneur behind the project – this release builds on the critical and streaming success of their 2024 debut, ‘Upside Down Blues’, which garnered half a million Spotify streams and international radio support.
Recorded in Paris at Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armee studios with elite rock musicians, ‘In the Shadow of Time’ takes listeners through a profound seven-track journey. Each song reflects a unique perspective on the nature and experience of time. With Eduard’s commanding baritone as the driving voice, the music plunges into emotional and philosophical depths, guiding the audience through intense soundscapes like the “Black Hole” and the symbolic “Pendulum.”
“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Eduard shares. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.”
Continuing his fusion of musical storytelling with intellectual exploration, Eduard’s scientific and Kabbalistic influences echo throughout the album, much like his acclaimed book From Infinity to Man.
The previously released single ‘Buddha Blues’ offers a spiritually rich message, touching on time’s power to heal, wrapped in gospel-blues harmonies and expressive instrumentation. Meanwhile, the title track visualizes time as an unseen force – mysterious and commanding – portrayed through evocative instrumentation and metaphor.
With ‘In the Shadow of Time’, Shyfrin Alliance deliver an album that invites listeners to not just hear music, but to experience a journey through philosophy, sound, and the mystery of time itself.
