The 17-track genre-bending project, which arrives today alongside multi-platinum certifications, features an abundance of sonic experiences buoyed by some of the music maker’s most honest lyrics, and successful releases last year, alongside brand new music
Sebastián Yatra says about the album, “I make music to heal all parts of the heart,” Sebastián shares on the many emotions on display on the album “Dharma.” The songs share familiar life experiences mosaiced through lyrics that deliver honest, sometimes chilling recollection of moments pertaining to emotions such as fear and joy, sexuality and sadness; performed over beats reversed by any genre-mold; from pop to 80s retro, reggaeton (“Regresé“) to ballads (“Tarde”), cumbia (“Amor Pasajero”) and rumba flamenca to the platinum music maker’s ode to early 2000s punk rock (“Las Dudas” w/ Aitana).
The 47th most streamed YouTube artist is building pillars for Latin music in the mainstream music space, across the the “Dharma” album’s already 2.3 Billion combined streams, sprinkled across releases like the 8x platinum hit (“Pareja del Año”), his 4x platinum smash (“Chica Ideal”), and the Latin GRAMMYs nominated ballad “Adios,” all released by the award-winning multi-talent last year.

The new album “Dharma is part of life’s journey.” Sebastián Yatra writes. “It is destiny. It is natural. It flows and it’s what is meant to be. It’s about accepting reality and receiving life for what it is.” The word dharma is the flipside of the more popular “karma which Yatra defines as “what comes to you in life for the things you do.” He continues “Dharma is a gift.” The good, the bad, the happy, and the sad are depicted in the music. “Although some songs are sad and others speak from happiness,” he explains ”they are all a part of our existence and love.”
