Rising star Sara Vukaylov returns with her brand new powerful single “Take Me“
Sara Vukaylov explores a dark infatuation on her new track ‘Take Me’- delivering a narrative of fantasy and addiction in a lustful relationship. Sara’s buttery-soft vocals deliver captivating melodies and rhythmic lines over a hard-hitting beat for a throwback R&B sound that is fiercely catchy- and utterly bewitching. The track was created with producer Edward Oberon with the pair working on the track online then recording vocals in a studio in Belgrade, Serbia.
Talking about the inspiration behind the track, Sara Vukaylov shares: “I was on my way home one day and on the way I saw this guy walking down the street. When our eyes met I was completely thrown off by his devilish eyes and the way he looked at me. His energy was very mysterious and intimidating but also very magnetic and I haven’t felt that from a person ever since so I decided to write a song about it.”
Born into a family of musicians in 2004, Sara joined on their path early on in childhood. At the age of four, she enrolled in the music school of Belgrade, Serbia where she studied violin and concurrently taking singing lessons with her mother who is a classical voice teacher.
In 2008, Sara took part in the biggest Serbian children’s music festival as a singer, performing in front of 20,000 people. As she describes it: “I was delighted by that experience and the new feelings it invoked in me“. Singing became her daily routine and a healthy obsession even at such a young age. Naturally, that led her to enroll in another music school and took upon classical voice lessons. Being encouraged by various jazz singers, she also decided to study jazz singing thus expanding her musical palette.
During her education Sara began collecting top prizes both in Serbia and across Europe as a classical violinist and classical singer. Taking a more active role in her musical engagement, she decided to attend a two-week Berklee Performance Program in Valencia in the year of 2018. This experience was a crucial factor in further expansion of her musical knowledge. It brought her inspiration to write her first original song, while experimenting with accompanying vocals and violin.
Not long after the program, Sara recorded her song titled ‘Player of Mine’, and signed it up for an online music competition ‘Unsigned Only’. She won the 2019 Grand Slam Promotion, mentioned in a digital magazine ‘Music Connection’. In the year of 2020, Sara won the first prize for the Best Original Song titled “I Don’t Want You Anymore” in Britain’s prestigious music competition ‘Open Mic UK’ . For her, this was an unforgettable journey to the O2 Arena where the Grand Final took place. Following this accomplishment she began to work with a UK F management company “Future Music Management” on her EP which will be released soon.
