The Wyoming-born, Nashville-based hitmaker blends western roots with trap and hip-hop.

“This record doesn’t sit in a box – it’s not just rap, it’s not just country. We worked hard to make something that sounds like us, something that’s its own lane,” Charles shared with Holler.

Jiggy Buckaroo features collaborations with Randy Savvy, Tyler Halverson, Struggle Jennings, and Sierra Ferrell, as well as a co-write with Ian Munsick. Ferrell duet “A Long Way” previewed the album last month, a gritty, highway confessional that blends Charles’ Western rap swagger and Ferrell’s soulful Appalachian vocals.

“I didn’t go chasing features just to have ‘em,” Charles continued. “For a while, this album was shaping up to be all me. Then my friends – who also happen to be some of my favorite artists – jumped on board. It just happened naturally, and that’s what makes it feel right.”

“It took some time to find the right producers and the sound I was really chasing. Once I found the team, though, it clicked. We built something that feels fresh and different, and I couldn’t be happier with where we landed.”

Holler praises: “Judging from the sneak preview we’ve had, Jiggy Buckaroo will be joining BigXthaPlug’s collab heavy country project as one of the highlights in a year when rap and country music have crossed forces to make some of the most exciting records of the year.”

On tap, Charles delivers another album sneak peek with “Shiny Stones” feat. Randy Savvy, out October 3.

Known for his blend of cowboy aesthetics and 2000s rap flow, Ryan Charles has been making waves for the last five years. His 2022 single “New Boot Goofin” surpassed 3 million streams on Spotify alone, contributing to nearly 100 million global streams across his catalog. Ryan has also released notable singles including the Jiggy Buckaroo bop “Gettin’ Western” in 2020, “Old Dirt Fancy” in 2021, Ian Munsick feature “Cowboy Killer,” and most recent releases “Prairie Roads with My Dawgs” and “All Wool.”
