Rising pop star Ronnie Watts Returns with a New Emotional Video for her single “Wake Up” with Jorlov
Ronnie Watts and Jorlov pair the track with an intimate montage video. Blending elements of grunge, trap and electro-pop, “WAKE UP” offers itself up as a safe space listeners can turn to in their darkest moments.
Ronnie shares, “when you wake up in the middle of the night, the world feels frozen and it feels like you’re the only one awake. You have to have something to get you through when life gets tough, I hope people will hear this song and feel like they have two new friends to lean on.”
The new video gets us into Ronnie and Jorlov’s friendship, showcasing each individual artist’s highest highs and lowest lows. The track’s dual melancholy and catchiness runs parallel the intimate moments the camera catches of Ronnie and Jorlov, physically apart and alone on their own beds, but sonically fused together. Again, “WAKE UP” reminds you that you are never alone.
Though seemingly from two different genres, Watts’s soft-spoken, heart-wrenching lyrics melt seamlessly with Jorlov’s heavy-hitting trap-influenced beats and commandeering flow.
The video shines in its ability to perfectly capture the camaraderie of both artists. The two friends’ formula proves to be a match made in heaven as this follows their previous collaboration “Dreams” featuring Brody Hale.
The new single ‘Wake Up’ comes after Ronnie’s recently released debut EP ‘I Don’t Trust U At All’ Since then Ronnie released a new version of her breakout single “Famous In California” and remix to the track “Sad Summer.” “Sad Summer” caught the attention of multi-platinum selling artist and “Hey, Soul Sister” singer Pat Monahan of Train.
The Rochester native’s delicate vocals and evocative songs not only earned her Tilly’s “Social Star Search Contest” and the title of “Best Local Song” on WNY radio, but also caught the attention of Universal UK management / label imprint W!ZARD Talent, who quickly signed the talented teen.
Through each of her releases, Ronnie has elevated her sound while deepening her vulnerability. In all aspects, Ronnie has pushed herself as an artist, displaying growth and consistently releasing songs and visuals that speak to her level of introspection. This latest collaboration continues to highlight Ronnie’s effortless ability to emotionally connect with her audience.
