Rising Star pluko join forces with Marlhy on New Single ‘feelings‘ via pluko’s imprint Splendid Society
The New Track ‘feelings’ is an anthemic, feel-good tune for the youth, illustrated by its lyrical play on lines “We just the kids with the fucked up feelings” and whimsical moments on “let’s build a world where we got no ceilings.”
Refreshing in its ability to layer the vocal structures of both pluko and Marlhy’s harmonic melodies, pluko exerts his innate abilities to produce a finely-calibrated single. ‘feelings’ is the perfect blend of uplifting indie-electronic sounds that comes just in time for summer’s end.
Pluko says about the track, “I wrote feelings as a song to reflect my outlook on the world and life in general. Kind of just accepting things for how they are and really just making your life about what you want it to be. Turning not so good situations into good ones. I really want this song to just teach people to appreciate what they have, love each other, and to be accepting. Above all, I want this song to make people FEEL HAPPY. “
Marlhy adds about the single “I know, for me personally, I sometimes take small things too seriously or worry too much about things I shouldn’t. I hope when people hear feelings they feel a sense of release and are able to live in the moment. One of the most important things I’ve learned growing up is that life is so much better when you’re focused on what makes YOU happy and simply taking things as they come.”
At only 20-years-old, Hollidaysburg, PA native Sam Martinsen has grown pluko into an internationally renowned project. His releases have racked up over 70 million streams across platforms, leading to major festival slots at Coachella, Firefly Festival, and Electric Forest. Last year, pluko launched Splendid Society, a record label, collective, and fashion brand.
Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Marlhy has taken the pop world by storm with her unique blend of genre-twisting pop. At only 18-years-old, she’s collaborated with producers such as Alex Delicata (Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lil Wayne) and Mike Molina (John Legend, Rick Ross, Young Thug), released top-trending singles “Claustrophobic”, “Green Light” and “Bubbles” – all of which debuted on Spotify’s New Music Friday, with the latter hitting 17 total globally.
Heavily influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse, The Cure and Bob Marley (her parents coining the moniker Marlhy from their love of the reggae legend), Marlhy started performing live when she was only six-years-old, and at 10 was in the youngest band ever to perform at South by Southwest and Lollapalooza. Noted as, “not your average teenage girl”, Marlhy is a seasoned drummer, songwriter and forward-thinking artist who, like pluko, is able to be a pivotal voice for their Gen Z peers.
