Global star Poo Bear Takes Us on a Ride in a Brand New R&B / Electronic Single “The Day You Left”
The new single was Co-written with Nabeel Y. Zahid and co-produced by himself, Skrillex, and Sasha Sirota, the song’s sullen R&B tone is highlighted by electronic flares. Originally written about the end of a relationship, the meaning personally shifted when Poo Bear experienced the passing of his mother earlier this year. With the theme of loss at its core, “The Day You Left” encapsulates the multitude of emotions that can occur when you say goodbye to someone for the last time.
Shot in Mexico, she dances underwater effortlessly, conveying the fluidity of grief and it’s non-linear nature. In conjunction with the sadness that Poo Bear conveys, this amplifies the mixed feelings that soundtrack the entirety of the song in both it’s lyrical and sonic elements.
Poo Bear says: “The day you left is the perfect balance between pain and joy and consistent selfishness and selflessness. It embodies the true meaning of a bittersweet loss. HBD!”
