Global pop icon, activist, and world-renowned drag queen Pabllo Vittar teams up with fellow Brazilian drag artist Gloria Groove on a new powerful single ‘Ameianoite’ via Sony Brazil/The Orchard
The buoyant, club-ready track follows last month’s “Descontrolada” featuring MC Carol, and highlights Vittar’s charismatic vocals and penchant for hypnotic beats. Its beautiful video, directed by Fernando Nogari (Selena Gomez, Rauw Alejandro) builds up to an intimate kiss between the two artists, punctuating Vittar’s unapologetic queerness and given the timing, sharing a deeper political message.
An important voice for Brazil’s #EleÑao (#NotHim) movement, Vittar has spent the better part of the past four years protesting the misogynist rhetoric and anti LGBTQI+ policies of former president Jair Bolsonaro. In addition to making appearances at rallies along Lula’s campaign trail, Pabllo Vittar contributed to the incoming leftist president’s triumphant run as a singer featured on the campaign’s official song.
With a powerful new video and a hopeful Brazilian political climate, “Ameianoite” marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both Pabllo Vittar and her country.
