Rising pop star OSTON teams up with JORDY on a brand new Single “How To Feel Human” From Upcoming EP
The new single “How To Feel Human,” following fan-favorite “Tomorrow” released last year. Their duet will be on OSTON’s upcoming sophomore EP, Am I Talking Too Much?, due this summer. The new single is a reflection on the realities of growing up, produced by long-time collaborator Drew Polovick of Friday Pilots Club.
Their latest release, available now on all streaming platforms, came out of a day at the studio with Drew Polovick. They spent their session reminiscing about the intensity of the pandemic, and how when they were younger it seemed like their parents could fix anything and everything –– something they now understand is not the case.
JORDY says, “I met OSTON and Drew on tour in January of 2020, and ever since then we haven’t been able to stop creating together. This past summer I was lucky enough to safely visit my family in Chicago, and while there I was able to drive to the city to see Austin and Drew at their studio. After an evening of drinking a little bit too much and reminiscing on our childhood, the song kind of spilled out of us organically. It’s a reflection of growing up, changing, and learning how to make this world feel like a home in moments of crisis and being a twenty-something. This song is a labor of love and a product of nostalgia, good friends, and honest conversation.”
OSTON follow-up single “I Think You Should Leave” (released April 7) showcases her versatile style, with a quirky, upbeat production and lyrics that give an ode to bad attitudes. Both tracks have accumulated 1.5 million global streams in their first month across streaming platforms and were featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Apple Music’s A-List Pop playlists.
OSTON says, “I think what makes this song so special is the different life experiences present in each of our verses. JORDY and I each talk about how growing up you lose the true sense of “home” in our own ways. It’s a feeling we can all relate to as we become more independent and move from our comfort zones. The lyrics detail our very specific and intimate life experiences, juxtaposed with a hook that brings a feeling of unity and togetherness.”
The rising pop star has collaborated with many acclaimed writers and producers, including, Justin Gammella (FINNEAS, Chelsea Cutler), Juan Ariza (Dua Lipa, Julia Michaels), Pete Nappi (Meghan Trainor, Troye Sivan), Jonny Shor (UPSAHL), Ryan Raines (Peach Tree Rascals), Charlotte Sands, and JORDY. She has received support from radio executives Jeff McClusky (JMA) and Phil Guerini (Radio Disney), with three singles charting at #1 on Radio Disney.
