Mariah The Scientist teams up with Kali Uchis on romantic new single “Is It A Crime” out now.
Mariah The Scientist follows the success of “Burning Blue” with the release of her latest single, “Is It A Crime,” featuring Kali Uchis. The new track, produced by Matt1k and Nineteen85, arrives ahead of her forthcoming album HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY, due out August 22.
With its smooth, sultry energy, “Is It A Crime” invites listeners into an intimate world shaped by emotion and yearning. The song’s refrain, “Is it a crime to fall in love a couple times, tell me?”, highlights the vulnerability Mariah has become known for, while Kali Uchis complements the sentiment with her signature presence.
“Is it a crime to fall in love a couple times, tell me? What’s it to ya, tell me? Is it a crime?”
“Is It A Crime” continues Mariah’s bold creative momentum. After the widespread acclaim of “Burning Blue,” she was inducted into The Recording Academy’s 2025 New Membership Class. Rihanna also offered public praise for Mariah during a recent European press tour.
In support of her upcoming album, Mariah will perform at Lollapalooza on Sunday, August 3, and host an exclusive fan event at The Vic Theatre the evening before. She will also serve as the keynote speaker at the ENVSN Festival in New York this August.
