“Over You” is featured on Kara’s recently released EP, State of Mine, a careful, considered body of work that proves how far Kara’s come as an artist, and one that firmly cements her as a formidable voice in her genre. She set out to redefine emotional R&B by sprinkling a fresh pop sound throughout the production and the musicality of her own voice.
Love, sadness, and depression are not new feelings, but by exploring a new sound in a new way, Kara gives the age-old feelings a succinctly new vibe throughout the 7-track record. Writing from personal experience, either her own, or by discussing relationship dynamics with friends, helped add another dimension to her songwriting on State of Mine.
