Music Star Jesse Jo Stark shares her brand new single ‘Tangerine‘ featured with a fan teaser music video
Enchanting and anthemic, the song is a shoegaze and country-soaked soundscape that feeds your soul. A California dipped track for a nation dreaming of summer, Jesse Jo transports listeners away with her sultry tenor and poetic visions.
Freshly picked from the singer-songwriter’s forthcoming album, the track is the first to follow her acclaimed rendition of the John Prine classic “Angel from Montgomery” back in April and one of several singles to be delivered this Fall, including the forthcoming “Die Young,” set for release on September 25th.
“Tangerine” is being released alongside a fan submission music video (with the official one to come next Friday, August 28th) which grew out of Stark’s organic connection with her fans on socials, and how she wanted to highlight their vision for “Tangerine” ahead of releasing her own.
“’Tangerine’ is about transformation,” says Jesse Jo Stark. “Different moods, characters and complex layers. Once you peel back that skin you get the sweetness. Recording “Tangerine” was the last time I was in the studio before the chaos erupted. It’s chilling looking at where we are in the world now and remembering the days when I recorded this song in the studio back in March, surrounded by a dreamy 12-piece string section. “Tangerine” is the child of a culmination of things and I’m so excited the world finally gets to hear it. I hope it brings some peace to those who need it most.”
“What I’ve missed most in this new way of livin has been the live shows and hanging out with everyone every night,” expressed Jesse Jo. “So along with the “Tangerine” track release, we thought it would be super sweet to get everyone involved in the video so it’s almost like we’re all having this one big party together, no matter where we are in the world physically we are together in heart. i’ve been at home watching everyone’s videos in full tears with the biggest smile wrapped around my face. everyone’s creativity and love for this song has been overwhelming. It makes my heart beat knowing that they can take away a little piece of “Tangerine” and make it their own. it’s fucking beautiful. it’s art.“

The music is timeless with unmissable nods to 70s rock, classic country, and ethereal pop, while heavy strokes of sex and kitsch add a playfulness to the workmanship of her songwriting.
