Popstar on the rise Jenem is back with a brand new dance single “Hate To Be Wrong”
Jenem returns with another Pop banger in the form of ‘Hate To Be Wrong’, a light-hearted poke at self-absorbed dating culture, boasting slick production from Matt Wills. Jenem’s witty lyrics and upbeat, dance-worthy sound always guarantees the catchiest melodies and a chart-worthy, commercial appeal and ‘Hate To Be Wrong’ is no different.
Talking about the new track, Jenem shares: “I wanted ‘Hate To Be Wrong’ to combine elements of satire and pure feel good pop music. I took inspiration from watching, probably too many, reality tv dating shows during lockdown and wondering why some people seemed to care more about being right than finding love! As with my last single, this one began as a voice note in my bedroom, followed by a rough home produced demo, before I took it to producer Matt Wills for some added polish!”
Big catchy pop choruses best define singer-songwriter Jenem. With 2021 seeing her focus on recording new music, this year she is set to release a 4 track EP, perform at festivals such as Camp Bestival, and play numerous live gigs, including a grassroots European tour.
Having previously performed at venues ranging from the 02 Academy Leeds and Cambridge Junction, to playing a headline show in London, she is no stranger to being on stage but her live setup has seen major developments over the past two years to see the introduction of a drum pad and keys, as well as guitar and vocals! With single ‘Why Do You Love Me’ released in February, and follow up ‘Hate To Be Wrong’ out this April, there’s plenty on the horizon for Jenem in 2022.
