With the recent circuit breaker safety measurements in Singapore, Jasmine Sokko has been getting creative in her own space despite the limitations. Engaging the directorial help from the visual team HANWORK from Chengdu, China, Jasmine shot and co-produced the accompanying 50 seconds visual piece (available on the artist’s official YouTube channel www.youtube.com/jasminesokko at 12 noon today ) all in her own home, with the help of her family members.
Says Jasmine, “Limitations can sometimes be the catalyst of more creative breakthrough. I’ve tripled up on so many roles – sound engineer, lighting engineer, camera man, stylist, hairdresser and whatnots, with the help of my family member and my team remotely. It is fun to do something new and put myself in other roles once in a while. And in all honesty, I can’t be more grateful for the people who always have my back during an actual video production shoot.”
Since the start of the year, Jasmine Sokko has been keeping busy with a string of releases and live streams throughout the circuit breaker period. To promote her latest English single, “MESS,” Jasmine Sokko is also kickstarting a #BlessThisMess TikTok dance challenge today at https://www.tiktok.com/tag/blessthismess to keep her fans moving during their #StayHome times.
Come June 1 at 12midnight, she will also by playing her first live-streamed DJ set for the online virtual party, Zouk Phuturescapes, with billing alongside with global artists such as Diplo and San Holo. More information on the event can be found at https://zoukclub.com/zoukphuturescapes.
