LA acclaimed pop-rock star Grace McKagan returns with a brand new brilliant single “One You Love“
This gritty new track delves deep into Grace’s experience with love and her relationship to the emotions that encompass it. The hazy video follows Grace wandering through an empty bowling hall where a stage suddenly appears, as if in a dream. She is then joined by a full band who performs “One You Love” alongside her to an audience of transfixed bowlers, dancing around in a PJ Harvey-eque white dress.
Grace says: “I was inspired by the power of love. How strongly I feel love and how we all experience love, “my love is an emotion, don’t throw it in the ocean”. Love can be passionate and heartbreaking, frustrating and beautiful, mystical, heavenly, heavy, confusing, illogical… like a dream”
and adds: “For the concept of the video, the director Chessa and I wanted to create a world in which viewers enter a dream with me- one that is illogical and mystical and beautiful, like love. We wanted to create a world in which nothing made sense yet everything does, just like the dreams we have every night”
She recently dropped singles “So Lucky,” a cheeky account about her keyboard player Trent’s hook up with his flight attendant crush, “So Hyper” that talks about the crush stage of a relationship, and “Surrender,” which was recently featured on L’Officiel. She was also featured in Vogue with her mother Susan where she chatted about her family life. Check out the new song and follow Grace McKagan for more news on upcoming music!
