Popstar on the rise, girl in red delivers a brand new powerful official video for “Body and Mind“
This song is a melancholy meditation on vulnerability, human condition and how one traumatic experience can change how you view both your spirit and the vessel carrying it. girl in red explains “It’s about you realizing you’re only a person, and the outer world can easily affect your body, even though you don’t feel like it’s affecting your mind”
girl in red shares, “It’s that dissonance between your mind and who you are as a person… Sometimes it’s really hard to grasp that we’re actually just humans, even though we take that shit for granted every day. We walk around, eat our breakfast, eat our dinner, we’re talking to people. ‘Body And Mind’ was an outlet to express that I’ve gotten a deeper understanding of what it is to be human. Seeing what happens to your body but you don’t feel that happening to your body — it’s just a really weird thing.”
For the video released today Marie said ““I was working with the director Thea Hvistendahl and she’s absolutely crazy and really funny. Making this video and giving Body And Mind a new dimension with these visuals is really dope. It feels like it’s been awhile since I’ve seen some witch shit so it was about time!”
For Ulven’s army of fans (2.1 million Instagram & 3.2 million Spotify followers and counting…), her debut album has heralded the beginning of an imperial phase that girl in red has been steering towards since crashing into The New York Times’ top 10 tracks of the year with breakthrough single ‘i wanna be your girlfriend’ in 2018.
