Los Angeles rising star Ginesse returns today with her debut album ‘Somewhere To Die‘ which features 5 tracks
The new EP ‘Somewhere To Die’ is Ginesse’s debut EP and consists of 5 brand new, previously unreleased songs that were crafted over the course of the past few years with her longtime collaborator, producer Matias Moras (CYN, AU/RA, The Aces).
Ginesse takes listeners on a lush, indie-pop journey, chronicling some of her life’s defining moments career changes, falling in love, falling out of love, blackout nights, depression, medication, sweat, and tears with an intimate, diary-like touch.
The rising star has already made quite a splash in the acting realm with her Emmy-nominated role on The Young and the Restless and her performance as Veronica in the critically acclaimed off-Broadway show, Heathers: The Musical.
Ginesse says about the new EP, “LA can be a lonely place. The ‘Somewhere To Die’ EP is about the people who have stuck around though it all and helped changed the point of view of my life experiences. These people saved my life and made my music possible. For that, I am forever grateful. Truth is though, this is just one chapter of my life. This is the start and I can’t wait to see what happens.”
Perhaps due to her strong thespian roots, she admits that she often approaches Ginesse as a character to play. But she does acknowledge that music is also the perfect outlet to boil herself down in.
She’s not wearing a wig or spandex but instead presents the most concentrated version of herself by telling genuine stories via metaphors that emote relatable yet uncomfortable situations and feelings. “I want my music to make people feel like the whole world is wrapping around them,” she says. “If I give someone an emotional picture of a specific moment, that is truly special.“
The new EP Features 5 tracks, LA Isn’t Somewhere To Die, All That I Wanted, 4:2, Dirtybird, and White Denim.
