Tell us about your latest single “Amazing”, how was it working on it, and what is the story behind it?
I wrote the song nearly a year ago, before Christmas. I just wanted to write a song about girl empowerment, saying that we don’t need a special occasion to have fun and feel Amazing hahah. I loved filming the video because it was so much fun just being with the girl. It felt like the song was coming to life, and I was just actually having an amazing time on set with everyone. That was exactly what I wanted.
How did Corona’s year change you as a musician, and what did you learn about yourself during that time?
Well, it definitely slowed things down. I was so ready to focus on my music as I just finished school and turned 18, so not being able to fully commit just yet was difficult. I did learn a lot and had to grow up very quickly. My exams were canceled, which I was very happy about haha, but I was just ready to go with recording. I was able to write on FaceTime with some writers, which was great, but it still wasn’t the same. I feel like the Allegra during lockdown and the Allegra now are very different.
Tell us something that your fans do not know about you?
I am obsessed with Christmas! I participate in all of the festivities and have even purchased my Christmas slippers! ! I just love bringing everyone together and seeing everyone happy. I love buying gifts for my friends and family; it’s always fun seeing everyone’s reactions. It’s just a happy time of year.
Who is the next artist you would like to collaborate with?
Oooo, this is tough, but I would love to work with Mimi Webb one day! I’m obsessed with her music! It just makes me feel motivated and empowered. I think working with her would be so much fun!
How did the pandemic change you as a musician, and what have you learned about yourself during the past year?
The pandemic didn’t change my music; if anything, it just pushed my drive even more. I have become more and more focused on my music and have been pushing myself. It feels like it was all a fancy now looking back at it but I have grown so much and I know what I want now. Being older, I can make my own decisions, and I know what I want my music to be.
What inspired your single “He Ain’t You” and what message do you hope that fans take from this single?
I wrote it about craving an old love who wasn’t the best person for you. You are with someone new who treats you so much better; he is a better guy for you, but he just isn’t him. You crave what you felt with your ex, even though he treated you badly at the end of the day. I wanted my fans to know it’s okay to feel that way; it’s okay to miss something that’s not good for you. You are human and you have feelings. You can’t help what you crave.
Can you share any upcoming plans with us?
“Used to Miss You” never gets old for me, or at least is hasn’t yet! I just love the feel of it, and the music video was one of my favourites to film! I love dancing, so doing that in the video made me feel on fire! I could have filmed it over and over again! I just wanted to get up and start dancing when I heard it; it holds such good memories.
You and many of the artists share their daily lives on social media, how important is exposure and connection to the audience for you?
Very important! I want my fans to be able to connect with me and see my daily life! It’s about both sides! It’s not just about the glamour but also about the hard work you put in! I want to inspire my fans and to know what it’s like onset of a music video or in the studio. I know I did when I was younger, so I want to share that now with my fans so they feel closer to the process of what happens behind the scenes.
As an artist, you are influenced by other artists you value and admire, who are the artists who have influenced you over the years, and is there anyone special?
Beyonce!!! I have always loved her motivation and how hardworking she is! She was what really gave me my drive when I was younger. I would watch all her videos and her documentaries repeatedly; I just love her. It is also her message, which I love, and it is also very important to me to have a message for my fans. All my music has a message because I don’t want to release something that has no meaning.

What does your typical day look like?
Well, I love doing some sort of sport every day! Either running outside or going to a class like Barry’s or a spinning class! I think it sets you up for the day. I am also a university student, so I have class, but on the days where I don’t have class, I am in the studio recording, doing vocal lessons, taking dance lessons, or having photoshoots. I also hang out with my friends, go out dancing, and have dinners with them. But music is my focus; it’s the life I want to live every day.
Where will we find you in 5 years? We’d love to hear some of your aspirations, dreams, and goals that you have.
I would love to release an album and go on tour! That is my dream.
What excites you most about being a singer and performing around the world?
Just meeting my fans, living my dream every day and sharing it!
