Empress Of releases ‘Femenine,’ a Spanish-language single from her upcoming album, featuring a music video by acclaimed director Ryan Heffington.
Empress Of, the dynamic Honduran-American artist, today unveils her latest single, “Femenine.” Accompanying the release is a vibrant music video directed and choreographed by the Emmy-winning Ryan Heffington, known for his work on Euphoria and Sia’s “Chandelier.”
The video captures a high-energy dance party, perfectly complementing the pulsing beats of this self-produced track. “Femenine” is a significant release, being the first Spanish-language song from her upcoming studio album and offering fans a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come.
Empress Of shares her experience working on the video, saying, “Was a dream to work with Ryan. No one moves like him and no one sees through a camera like him. Legend is an understatement and I loved working in this fever dream fantasy with him.”
In her forthcoming project, for which she serves as the executive producer, Empress Of draws inspiration from vocal music. She creatively uses her voice as the primary instrument, transforming it into drum beats, bass lines, and keyboard melodies, with elements of ASMR breathing adding texture throughout the album.
Following her recent collaboration with Rina Sawayama on “Kiss Me,” Empress Of has been captivating audiences with her tour performances and opening acts for stars like Carly Rae Jepsen. Her festival appearances, including at Outside Lands and Corona Capital, have further solidified her as a powerhouse in the music scene.
Empress Of’s previous work includes the Save Me EP, featuring tracks like “Turn The Table” with Jim-E Stack, “Dance For You,” and the eponymous “Save Me.” These songs, born from a period of deep introspection, showcase her versatility and talent. Her collaborations extend to Top 40 pop artists such as Khalid, cultural icons like Blood Orange and Lewis OfMan, and DJ legend Boyz Noise.
