Dennis Lloyd speaks about his darkest times in his life in a new emotional single ‘Anxious‘ featured along with official video
The new single “Anxious” from Dennis’ will get features in his forthcoming debut album set for release later this year, chronicles what is described as his “darkest period in his life.” While his single “Nevermind” was becoming a global success, things couldn’t be more stressful and tense for him behind the scenes.
Dennis had hopes to release “Never Go Back” as his follow up single, while his previous label did not agree with that creative direction and blocked Dennis from releasing new music. A year-long legal dispute between the two parties followed, which led to Dennis experiencing serious depression and anxiety, not knowing if he would ever be able to release music again.
Dennis shares about the new single, “it was the first time I experienced a panic attack. My head was spinning, heart pounding. I felt like the world was collapsing around me but eventually it was all just in my head. It was a horrible time.”
Lloyd gets incredibly vulnerable and raw on the new track, exploring the universal struggles associated with anxiety, depression, and loneliness. His panic attack episodes were the inspiration behind the visuals.
The global rising pop star has traveled the world on the sold-out ‘Never Go Back Tour,’ with highlights including show-stopping sets at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, New York City’s Governor’s Ball, and Dover, DE’s Firefly Festival. Last fall, he embarked on the sold-out The Never Go Back Tour: Part III, which spanned across 16 European countries.
