Listen To – Daði Freyr – Think About Things
Icelandic Rising Star Daði Freyr Shares the acoustic version of his hot single ‘Think About Things‘
The acoustic version of ‘Think About Things’ sees Daði Freyr trade in the retro synth sounds of the original for sparse guitars and delicate strings provided by Icelandic string quartet CeaseTone.
The accompanying official video sees Daði and CeaseTone performing the track live in their native Iceland. It follows a recent remix of the track from Mercury Prize-nominated UK synth-pop group Hot Chip.
“This is my first time working with string instrument players and I was blown away,” Daði Freyr recalls. “CeaseTone made a beautiful arrangement and watching the string quartet playing the song gave me goosebumps. I’m so happy with the outcome and I will 100% be exploring ways to include string instruments a lot more in my music in the future.”

A certified viral smash, ‘Think About Things’ exploded onto the scene after Jennifer Garner used it as the soundtrack for a TikTok-style video on her Instagram which was subsequently viewed over 6 million times.
The story was then covered by Good Morning America and received support from the likes of Ariana Grande, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyenth Paltrow and James Corden.
‘Think About Things’ has since accumulated 115,000 uses on TikTok, 17 million YouTube views and 35 million Spotify streams, with the track also sitting at #1 in Shazam Discovery for over 40 countries and on the Spotify US Viral Chart for 8 weeks straight.
It was initially released back in February, with Daði Freyr poised to become Iceland’s Eurovision 2020 entry before the tournament’s cancellation, and his fame continues to grow following the recent release of Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga – a hilarious new Netflix film that sees Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams playing Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, AKA Fire Saga, who after a wild twist of fate are chosen to represent their country at Eurovision 2020. Daði recently covered the lead song from the film, ‘Volcano Man’, and well as breaking down the lyrics to the film’s key track ‘Husavik’ in English via video feature with Vulture.
