Brynn Elliot And Teams Up with Swedish electropop duo Icona Pop on New “Tell Me I’m Pretty” Remix
The new remix for “Tell Me I’m Pretty” features a dance-ready flip gives a whole new feeling to Brynn’s empowering anthem inspired by stories of superficiality- a concept that dates back in history, from corsets to Instagram filters. Brynn wrote the song for women, and wanted to amplify the female empowerment narrative by enlisting the help of Icona Pop.
The song & Brynn’s forthcoming EP infuse vibrant pop with a focus on identity, self-image, and finding one’s place in the world. Brynn shares, “This song means the world to me because it’s an anthem proclaiming that my value as a woman is not based on how well I measure up to cultural standards of beauty,” says Brynn. “Ultimately, it’s about finding true beauty and the freedom to be real human in a world obsessed with ‘image.’”
The original version of “Tell Me I’m Pretty” is co-written with songwriter Michelle Buzz (Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue), the track is joined by an official music video filmed at a palatial estate on the Hudson River Palisades, directed by Los Angeles-based photographer, creative director, and director Lauren Dunn (The Weeknd, G-Eazy).
Recorded in Los Angeles and produced in large part by songwriting/production duo The Monarch (Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj), CAN I BE REAL? sees Elliott expanding on the thoughtful yet emotionally potent lyricism of her 2018 debut EP, TIME OF OUR LIVES.
