Brazilian rising star, model and artist Alissic is back with her brand new exciting single ‘Superstitious’
Alissic new single “Superstitious” is a multi-layered and hypnotic ode to the Summer, the perfect slice of alt-pop pie and the first music to feature some vocals in her native Brazilian tongue. The track was co-written with her husband Oli Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon) and Dan Lancaster and is the follow up to last year’s “Piano”.
Alissic says “it makes me feel warm and like home with its Latin American influence. The super spacey and lush sound in the pre-chorus gives it a really ethereal vibe. It feels like you are crafting a spell, when you talk about female intuition it means you are intune with yourself and the universe, and I wanted to reflect that in the sound”.
Alissic’s world is a place already inhabited by her devoted and ever growing fanbase, with over 2 million followers across her socials and a healthy 2 million streams under her wings to date, she is without a doubt pop’s most audacious new star.
This is Alissic’s vision: having full control of what she creates, both familiar enough to make you enjoy it on first listen, while harboring enough complexity to make you listen to it again and again, until it all makes sense to you. “I don’t want to make just a pop sound,” she says, “but to add elements of difference, and create a new style.”
She is just three songs into her career, but this determined, hyper-focused creative vision is already reaping rewards. Keep your eye on Alissic; this is only the beginning.
