Global pop music star AJ Mitchell releases his new deluxe version for his album “SKYVIEW“
AJ Mitchell expands the tracklisting with a trio of showstopping new live recordings and stunning accompanying performance visuals for each live track.
In the videos for the live tracks, a retro-style SKYVIEW sign hangs from the ceiling, watching over the rising star as he performs. He delivers emotional and entrancing renditions of “Miss You (Live in LA)” and “I Choose You (Live in LA)” joined by a masked string quintet, bringing orchestral bombast to his raw, naked vocals. Meanwhile, a pianist and background singers harmonize with him during an intoxicating take on “Cheap Red Wine (Live in LA)”.
Upon initially releasing SKYVIEW, Mitchell shared the music video for “Hi-Lo.” Right out of the gate, it amassed over 1.1 million YouTube views and counting. Not to mention, tracks from the record have cumulatively tallied just shy of 1 billion streams thus far.
AJ says, “SKYVIEW is the summary of my artist journey up until now,” explains AJ. “As a kid, the Skyview Drive-In theater was a place in my small town of Belleville, Illinois that had the power to transport me into a world of endless possibilities. Today,SKYVIEW is proof that anything can happen if you are willing to take the risk and do the work necessary to make any dream come true.”
AJ’s journey from the tiny Illinois town of Belleville to the doorstep of stardom—on his own terms. Named after the drive-in movie theater he grew up going to as an escape from his everyday life, SKYVIEW is true coming-of-age record. It includes previously shared fan favorites such as “Cameras On,” “Stop,” “Slow Dance” [feat. Ava Max], and the aforementioned, “Used To Be.”
