Rising pop star A.ROSE unveils her brand new brilliant single “Drama Queen”
The new single ‘Drama Queen’ talks about hormonal rollercoasters, cramps, pain and all the clichés that come into play when talking about menstruation. Singer Anna-Rose Clayton is done with being called a Drama Queen, and doesn’t take it so bloody serious anymore.
A.ROSE shares, “We whine a lot, exaggerate, are too emotional, it’s dirty, we have to be secretive about it and accept all the jokes. I’m done!” says the singer, who wrote the single during her period. With this track, A.ROSE hopes to create a little more understanding with others, but also with herself. Talking about menstruation is still very difficult for many and it is not made easier by the stupid clichés and secrecy. “Sometimes I forget that it is part of the game and then all the doubt, insecurity and all prejudices start immediately. We should not do that to ourselves anymore. Sometimes it’s part of the deal, let me be!“
The rising star submerges itself with contemporary raw electro-pop. Influenced by the best bits and pieces of her own imagination, the attitude of her favourite singers, underground electronics and her self-conscious lyrics, A.ROSE won’t let you stop moving on its synth-filled mix.
With the release of their newest tracks, an impressive show at ESNS, and a sold-out Paradiso’s Cinetol, A.ROSE is ready to leave 2020 behind and focus on her debut EP, which will be released at Paradiso in spring 2021.
