Syd Unveils New Song “Right Track” Featuring Smino and Announces New Live Los Angeles Philharmonic
The new single “Right Track” is a banger done Syd-style, detailing a conversation with her new lover about taking their relationship to the next level. The song also features a cameo by Smino.
Syd has continued to be a major cultural force over the last few years, hardly resting on her laurels. Her band, THE INTERNET, released a critically acclaimed fourth album, Hive Mind; she appeared in Drake’s video for “Nice For What;” she wrote a song for Beyonce called “Otherside,” on the Lion King Soundtrack; she collaborated with Zayn, Lil Uzi Vert, Kehlani, Disclosure, Kelly Rowland, and Charlotte Day Wilson; she built a recording studio in her home of Los Angeles; she appeared in a Louis Vuitton ad at Virgil Abloh’s behest.
Featured along with the amazing release of the new single, Syd is thrilled to announce her only show of 2021 — a free show with the LA Phil conducted by Anthony Parnther at The Ford on September 22nd. A limited number of free tickets for this performance will be made available at 2 PM PT on Friday, September 10.
Syd is currently working on her film project, partnering on an apparel/fashion project in Japan, teaming up with an upstart Napa Valley sparkling wine brand, and, during the pandemic, she has been focused on collecting and rehabbing old trucks.
