Chinese-American female house music creative XIE unleash a new hit single “Birds In Paradise” via Thrive Music
Radiating with frisky, flirtatious energy, ‘Birds In Paradise’ bursts with deep, thumping basslines, entrancing vocals, and bouncy synth melodies. Through tantalizing tech-house tones, XIE showcases her proclivity for playful dancefloor rhythms and cheeky lyricism. ‘Birds In Paradise’ also marks the first release as part of XIE’s new partnership with Thrive Music, where she joins a roster of fellow dance acts like ACRAZE, NERVO, SOHMI, Moore Kismet, and Nostalgix.
XIE says: “For me, music is escapism. I wrote ‘Birds In Paradise’ to create a moment that sweeps you away from the everyday grind. It transports you to an almost magical place where nothing else matters.”
Capturing hearts with her moody, melodic soundscapes and edgy lyricism, XIE’s unique personality and inherent artistry coming from a family of fine artists runs deep through every aspect of her project. From designing her artwork and lyric videos to writing, producing, and performing her songs, XIE’s multi-hyphenate creativity knows no bounds.
Raised with a penchant for artistic expression, XIE was trained as a classical pianist and violist since the age of 5 and performed with the esteemed Premier Youth Symphony. As she grew up, she navigated the depths of her genetically-ingrained passions, studying Fine Art and honing her musical talents. Drawing inspiration from artists like ZHU, Grimes, Wax Motif, and Chris Lake, XIE taught herself to produce as a way to further extend the skills in her toolbox.
After releasing a string of singles with Casablanca/Republic Records, and performing at revered festivals such as Coachella’s DoLab, HARD Summer, and EDC Las Vegas, the 2020 pandemic saw XIE turning to focus on the evolution of her sound to match her pop tendencies. When live music returned in 2021, XIE found herself at Chris Lake’s ‘Black Book In The Park’ party at San Diego’s Petco Park, where she was immersed in the harmonious culture and soulful spirit of house music. Now, bringing those elements into her own music, XIE returns with an alluring blend of house, techno, and pop this year.
