Rising star Vegyn is Breaking Down Boundaries With a New 6 Track Electronic EP “Like a good old friend“
The new EP ‘Like a good old friend’ features a six-track collection that embodies Vegyn’s own warped interpretation of dance music, Like A Good Old Friend bristles with exactly the kind of playful energy that has typified Vegyn’s own sonic palette.
Set to an analog bounce, opener ‘I See You Sometimes’ is a cut of melancholic electronic rap that twists and turns to take the road less travelled at every opportunity featuring rising London artist Jeshi.
The EP title track takes a turn for the atmospheric; utilising swells of wide reaching soundscapes punctuated by an off-kilter rhythm and skittering percussion. ‘So Much Time – So Little Time’ features much feted London artist John Glacier, twisting and distorting her vocal into melancholic territories alongside a full-bodied sonic tapestry.
EP closer ‘Sometimes I Feel Like I’m Ruining Songs’ is a pulsing example of meditative house, complete with a soft focus piano line and disorientating melodic textures throughout.
Vegyn’s status as one of the UK’s most unique creatives – an artist who refuses to compromise in a way that’s endlessly imaginative while maintaining an insatiable sense of fun across a number of different mediums
