Montreal-based artist and producer TDJ is taking over the music scene with new energetic single and music video ‘Addictive/Predictive’
The release follows the acclaimed success of her first two EPs ‘TDJ001’ (2020) and ‘TDJ002’ (2021), as well as her curated A/V compilation ‘SPF INFINI’ (featuring a 38-mins video clip). This euphoric but melancholic track is a perfect representation of TDJ’s alternative rock/emo and dance electronic influences, resulting in her unique bittersweet sound.
TDJ shares: “It’s tough to pinpoint what exactly this song is about, but it definitely captures an ongoing emotion that summits by the end,” “ It makes me think of a feeling I have sometimes of having control over my fears. Like if I could decide to stop or provoke what I fear the most. It’s an introspection that culminates in a euphoric apex that sounds like the liberation of this weird pressuring and ongoing feeling.”
Self-shot on location, the video follows TDJ as she pens la ville de l’amour; her love letter to Paris. TDJ’s nighttime journey into the French City is directed and edited by Kevin Elamrani-Lince.
From her debuts in 2019, TDJ conquered the old continent by joining the mythical Casual Gabberz with the track “Can’t Stop Ravin”. Followed up by “Nana” in 2020, then “All I Want For Christmas Is An Acoustic Guitar” in 2021. Gabber and trance, with finesse, on the “Meilleurs Vœux” compilations of this iconic label and collective.
Seemingly unstoppable, with all eyes (and ears) on her, a tangible and permeable excitement gravitates around Geneviève. “Addictive/Predictive”, her next track due out in March 2022, heralds the culmination of a TDJ in all her resplendent bitterness.
