Electronic music global stars Showtek and Noise Cans Teams Up With Capleton on a New EP ‘Mercy‘
Showtek interest and admiration for genres like reggae and dancehall can be heard from some of their early hits like ‘Booyah‘ and ‘Sun Goes Down‘. The Dutch formation now teams up with super talent Noise Cans and reggae singer Capleton for an eclectic collaboration called ‘Mercy’.
The new EP ‘Mercy’ Blending sounds of the original Reggae and Jamaican Soundsystem culture, that crossed over into Drum & Bass and heavily influenced today’s electronic dance scene.
Showtek shares, ‘Showtek is all about blending genres. When Noise Cans sent me the vocals he worked on with Capleton, I ( Wouter ) instantly had an idea to create an emotional and ethereal sounding track around it, less ‘big’ but more intimate to support the topic. Loved working with these guys and we are proud of the result and what we all did to this song together’.
Noise Cans, who previously released ‘Life‘ on Showtek’s imprint SKINK and remixed their single ‘Someone Like Me’, initiated this collaboration after he recorded the vocals with Capleton. After Wouter (Showtek) heard the demo for ‘Mercy‘ he immediately started to work on a version that was more intimate to support the topic of the vocals.
The new EP following their track with Sevenn ‘Pum Pum‘ that was released in February and appears together with a new record ‘Misbehaving‘ on the eponymous ‘Mercy EP’, which is out now.
Noise Cans says, ‘My aim is to always have a thought-provoking message in the music I create and “Mercy” is another indication of that. It is even better when you can work and create with artists that you respect and admire. Showtek and Capleton have been longtime favorites of mine which makes this collaboration that much more special’.
