Electronic music icons REZZ and deadmau5 Teams Up On New Collaborative Single “Hypnocurrency”
Electronic music global stars REZZ and deadmau5 bring us a new single “Hypnocurrency”, an expressive instrumental bringing together the unique studio production they are both known for – REZZ with her sharp balance between bass-heavy and minimal tech compositions with menacing tones and deadmau5 with his knack for creating haunting soundscapes.
She oozes originality and produces genre-bending electronic works, striking a sharp balance between bass-heavy and minimal tech compositions. REZZ, through her early productions on Soundcloud caught the ears of deadmau5 and Skrillex, who in 2015 oversaw the release of her debut, Insurrection, on OWSLA’s NEST HQ imprint.
Her most recent offering, the Beyond The Senses EP is a transportive, boundary-pushing six-track collection that reimagines how we consume music outside of the realm of our five earthly senses. To celebrate the EP’s release, REZZ partnered with VR leaders Wave to create an eerie, meticulously crafted ‘Beyond The Senses’ VR world. REZZ premiered the ‘Beyond The Senses’ in virtual reality, guiding fans through through a supernatural landscape as her avatar played the EP for the first time in full. With this forward-thinking mix of technology and creativity, REZZ further establishes her place as a global dance music tastemaker and trendsetter.
In 2019 deadmau5 completed his first ever film score for the Jonas Akerlund-directed spy thriller Polar available worldwide now via Netflix with its soundtrack released on mau5trap as well as celebrated the release of here’s the drop!, an album of remixes of material from his 2018 orchestral album where’s the drop? For it, plenty of revered tastemakers such as Morgan Page, Matt Lange, PEEKABOO, Mr. Bill and more have been tapped for their talents to make this remix album a cerebral journey through sound. His latest releases “Pomegranate” with The Neptunes, “Bridged By A Lightwave” with Kiesza and “Channel 43” with Wolfgang Gartner are out now.
