After years of shaping records and live performances from behind the drum kit, Max Norton steps further into his own creative spotlight with the release of his new single, ‘The Wolves.’ Known for a decade long career performing with a wide range of recording artists, the Tampa born, Nashville bred multi instrumentalist continues to carve a distinct artistic identity that reflects both experience and personal intention.
The release of ‘The Wolves’ follows a transformative period for Norton, who spent the past year and a half living in London. His connection to the city grew through repeated visits, including performances on BBC’s Later with Jools Holland and appearances at the Glastonbury Festival. That time abroad played a meaningful role in shaping the direction of his newest material, which begins to unfold with this single.
‘The Wolves’ serves as the starting point for Norton’s next series of songs, all recently completed and ready to be shared. The track reflects motion, persistence, and resilience, qualities that align with the artist’s journey both personally and professionally. As Norton explains, “The Wolves is a traveling song. It’s about that drive to push forward no matter what. There is always something trying to catch you or chase you, but you learn to live with it and use it to your advantage.”
Throughout his career, Norton has performed at major festivals including Bonnaroo and Coachella, while also appearing on widely recognized television platforms such as Seth Myers and David Letterman. While those moments marked significant milestones, they also reinforced his desire to fully express himself through writing, performing, and producing his own work.
In recent years, Norton has taken full creative control, releasing music independently and performing live across New York City, Tampa, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, and beyond. He is currently preparing for an upcoming run of live shows extending through 2025 and into 2026 in support of ‘The Wolves.’
Now based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Norton draws inspiration from the region’s deep musical legacy. Reflecting on his connection to the area, he shares, “All of my favorite records were made in the Shoals. The Singing River, as they say. There’s just something in the water.”
With ‘The Wolves,’ Max Norton continues moving forward, guided by experience, intention, and a sound shaped by the places that have defined his path.
