Matt Maeson unveils ‘Halfway to Whole’ | An emotional glimpse into his upcoming album ‘A Quiet And Harmless Living’
Virginia-born, Nashville-based artist Matt Maeson has unveiled his latest single ‘Halfway to Whole’, giving fans a heartfelt preview of his forthcoming album A Quiet And Harmless Living, arriving September 12 via Atlantic Records. Known for his vulnerable songwriting and raw delivery, Maeson once again channels his inner struggles into music that feels deeply personal yet universally resonant.
Speaking about the song, Maeson shared:
“‘Halfway to Whole’ is a song I wrote about a depressive state that I get to sometimes. The older I get, the more I realize sometimes it’s just unavoidable and what’s important is understanding that it’s temporary. The song is about all the things I think about in that state of mind. The hopelessness, the insecurities, the failures. It’s a song that exemplifies how important it is for me to admit these thoughts when I have them and try to process them the best I can. This song did a lot for me in that way and as always, I hope it can do as much for the listener.”
The upcoming album, A Quiet And Harmless Living, reflects the major life changes Maeson has experienced—marriage, fatherhood, and a move from Austin to Nashville. With each track, he turns complex emotions into powerful anthems that balance pain with resilience. “It was very healing to write this,” he explains. “I was going through a lot. So, A Quiet and Harmless Living is about deconstruction and figuring out who I am now as a person in a completely different season.”
Adding to the anticipation, Maeson will embark on a 42-date tour, beginning in late September across North America before heading to Europe and the UK in early 2026. With ‘Halfway to Whole’, Maeson continues to prove his ability to transform vulnerability into connection, offering fans both solace and strength.
